Introducing Childerditch Farms

Childerditch Farms is a large, diverse agri-business.

A family run partnership between Charles & Edward Ford farming 610ha across Essex and 520ha in Bedfordshire.

Charles and Edward have been working within the family business for over a decade and in the past five years have taken lead in development and management of Childerditch Farms, both with a great desire to continue building a successful business.

Childerditch Farms is principally based at Heckapen Farm, Herongate, Essex where the arable area is approximately 500ha, with a secondary holding at Elms Farm, Roxwell providing an additional 110ha.

Childerditch Farms acquired Beckerings Park Estate in Bedfordshire. The Beckerings Park Estate is an exceptionally diverse commercial farming estate spanning some 520ha comprising of arable land, a residential portfolio, a commercial business park and a high-quality shoot.

Heckapen Farm, Essex

Construction of Heckapen farm began in late 2017 following the decision to move the farming operation away from Childerditch to allow for expansion of the light industrial lettings side of the business. With the general office now based at Heckapen, it has become the hub of the business with extensive investment in grain and machinery storage, a self-contained sprayer shed and a very well equipped workshop. A further grain store was completed in late 2025 to the north of the existing buildings.
